Importing data files to WM
--------------------------

These instructions describe how to transfer your data exported from the EPOC/Nokia versions of our programs (or equivalent text files exported from other programs), and import into the versions of the RMR programs for Windows Mobile OS.

For RMRBank and its modules, the methods used are built-into the programs, but do need some manual intervention and setup.

For the other programs you need to use the supplied RMRImport (WM) program. Although this program is specifically designed to use the Tab-delimited ASCII text files as exported from the EPOC/Nokia programs, it will also accept CSV files created in Excel from other data sources, provided they match the required format.

The format is defined for each program, and can be determined by doing a test export of data from the required program.

Note that when you export from the EPOC programs you need to set the "Date Format" to be the same as the format displayed on the Windows Mobile machine.

Note also that we only provide a transfer mechanism for parts of the programs where there may be a large amount of cumulated data. For other areas, such as the configurations and account names in RMRBank, you will need to enter them manually. This may take you some time.

The requirements and method for each program are as follows:

RMRBANK (WM)
------------

1.	Start RMRBank (WM) and manually create Account Groups, Accounts, Currencies and Archive files.

2.	Create Budget Categories before trying to importing transaction data. Categories must be exactly the same as those previously used in the EPOC/Nokia program to avoid mismatch during transaction data import.

3.	Close the program.

4.	In RMRBank(EPOC/Nokia) Accounts use the Export data function to export transaction data as a QIF file from each Account in turn.

(Note that there is a small bug in the RMRBank (EPOC) export function, that means that some entries that include 10 cents (pence) get exported as "7.1*" instead of "7.10". Either upgrade to V3.1d or manually edit the QIF files in a text editor.)

5.	Export archive data as a QIF file from each Archive file in turn.

6.	Transfer all the QIF text files from EPOC/Nokia machine to the "My Documents" folder on the WM. This can be done either by Bluetooth (if both machines have the feature and are paired), or by using the appropriate software to transfer via a PC (PsiWin, PC Suite, ActiveSync).

7.	Start RMRBank (WM) and then use the Import Data function in each Account, selecting the correct QIF file to import the transaction entries.

8.	Repeat for each Account.

9.	Use the the Import Data function in each Archive file, selecting the correct QIF file to import the archived entries.

10.	Repeat for each Archive.

11.	Check that all accounts and archive data has been transferred, then delete the QIF files from "My Documents".

12.	Manually set up the following RMRBank (WM) data as required, in this order:
	- Account settings
	- Auto counters
	- Direct Debits/Orders
	- Interest payments
	- Default transactions
	- Program preferences
	- Memo data

13.	Refer to the following sections for information on export/import of Fuel, Investments, Home Inventory, and Expenses data.

RMRFUEL (WM)
------------

1.	Export the data from the RMRBank Fuel History screen, or the RMRFuel main screen, on EPOC/Nokia. Use a different file name for each vehicle if you have more than one. Use the ASCII Tab-separated format.

2.	Check the resultant text files and note the units exported for distance and fuel (probably Miles and Litres).

3.	Transfer the text files to the "My Documents" folder on the WM.

4.	Start RMRFuel (WM) and create the vehicle(s). Set up the Units to match your original data. Close the program.

5.	Load the attached RMRImport.nsb anywhere onto the WM, and tap on it to start the program.

6.	Select the appropriate settings. It should import all the values.

7.	Repeat for each vehicle.

8.	Delete the text file from "My Documents" and the RMRImport file if no more data is to be imported.

9.	Data format is Date <Tab> Cost <Tab> Price <Tab> Quantity <Tab> (Blank) <Tab> (Blank) <Tab> Distance <Tab> Remarks (And it assumes a header line of these titles)

RMRINVEST (WM)
--------------

1.	Export the data from the RMRBank Share History screen, or the RMRInvest History screens, on EPOC/Nokia. Use a different file name for each share. Use the ASCII Tab-separated format.

2.	Check the resultant text files. The export will have been in the Base Currency of RMRBank (EPOC/Nokia) or the selected currency for RMRInvest and you will need to know which currency has been used for the export.

3.	Transfer the text files to the "My Documents" folder on the WM.

4.	Start RMRInvest (WM) and create the shares with the correct number and the last price on the History export. Close the program.

5.	Load the attached RMRImport.nsb anywhere onto the WM, and tap on it to start the program.

6.	Select the appropriate settings. It should import all the values.

7.	Repeat for each share.

8.	Delete the text file from "My Documents" and the RMRImport file if no more data is to be imported.

9.	Data format is Date <Tab> Price (with no header line).

RMRHOME (WM)
------------

1.	Export the data for each house from RMRBank(EPOC/Nokia) Inventory module Items screen, or the RMRHome Items screens. Use a different file name for each house.

2.	Check the resultant text files. The export will have been in the Base Currency of RMRBank (EPOC/Nokia) or the selected currency for RMRHome and you will need to know which currency has been used for the export.

3.	Transfer the text files to the "My Documents" folder on the WM.

4.	Start RMRHome (WM) and create all the rooms and categories exactly as they were previously.

5.	Load the attached RMRImport.nsb anywhere onto the WM, and tap on it to start the program.

6.	Select the appropriate settings. It should import all the values.

7.	Repeat for each house.

8.	Delete the text file from "My Documents" and the RMRImport file if no more data is to be imported.

9.	Data format is Date <Tab> Description <Tab> Room <Tab> Category <Tab> Serial Number <Tab> Price (And it assumes a header line of these titles)

RMREXPENSES (WM)
----------------

1.	Export the details for each trip and each archive from the RMRBank(EPOC/Nokia) Expenses screens or the RMRExpenses screens. Use a different file name for each trip/archive.

2.	Check the resultant text files. The export will have been in the Base Currency of RMRBank (EPOC) or the selected currency for RMRExpenses and you will need to know which currency has been used for the export.

3.	Transfer the text files to the "My Documents" folder on the WM.

4.	Start RMRExpenses (WM) and create the trips and archives.

5.	Load the attached RMRImport.nsb onto the WM (anywhere), and tap on it to start the program.

6.	Select the appropriate settings. It should import all the values.

7.	Repeat for each trip and archive.

8.	Delete the text file from "My Documents" and the RMRImport file.

9.	Data format is Date <Tab> Description <Tab> Category <Tab> Reference <Tab> Distance <Tab> Amount (And it assumes a header line of these titles).
